Architectural Preservation and Review Board Members

Board members are appointed to a 3 year term by the Mayor with approval of the Board of Trustees.

Paul Zachman

Paul Zachman, Chairperson


Paul and his wife Karen purchased their home in the Village in 2003, and moved in after extensive renovations, converting a former two family house back into a single family home for their family. Paul has a degree in Ornamental Horticulture from the State University of New York at Alfred. He is president and founder of Boardwalk Design Inc, a Design/Build company established in 1989 that is located here in the Village. Paul is a member of the National Homebuilders Association from which he has achieved the designation of Certified Graduate Remodeler. He is a past president of the Gardenscape Professionals Association and has Co-Chaired the annual flower & garden show GardenScape in 1996, 1997, 1998, 2006, and 2007, and has served on the Board of The Rochester Civic Garden Center. Other current local memberships and affiliations include The Rochester Home Builders Association, The Better Contractors Bureau, The Pittsford Chamber of Commerce, Historic Pittsford, Monroe Golf Club, and Saint Louis Church. In addition to serving on the APRB, he serves on the Erie Canal Greenway Project Committee, the Development Review Committee, and the Joint Boards Steering Committee for the Village.

Village resident since 2002 with his wife Ann. A graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology and a Construction Manager at Eastman Kodak where he has been employed for 32 years.

Bill McBride


Bill McBride, his wife, Sean, and their four children moved into a historic house in the Village of Pittsford in 1994 from a different residential environment in the Town of Pittsford. “We were interested in the unique quality of life that the village could offer a family. We were not disappointed. The proximity and quality of the shops, schools and services, the nearby diversity of families and the physical character of the Village gave us what we were looking for in the living environment. I am interested in helping to maintain and enhance this unique environment.”

Maria Huot


Maria has been a village resident with her husband Glen and son Marco since 1999. Maria is a graduate of the Pontificia Bolivariana University School of Architecture class of 1990. She has practiced as an Architect and taught university Architecture courses with a focus on History of Art and History of Architecture in Colombia, South America. Today, she is a certified Technology teacher, within the Brighton Central School District, who teaches Architectural Design and Drafting. “I am honored to be part of the APRB. I believe that preserving architecture rich neighborhoods develops a sense of place and belonging to those who live and visit these communities.”

Christina Lanahan

Christina Lanahan


Cristina graduated from the University of Notre Dame's School of Architecture in 1996. She worked for several years in Boston as an architect, primarily on traditionally styled buildings. In 2002 she and her husband, Bryan, moved to the Village of Pittsford where they live with their three children.

WHEREAS, we, the members of the Village Board of Pittsford, NY, as do all the residents of our community, wish to express our sorrow at the passing of our friend, Kenneth L. Willard, and

WHEREAS, Ken served for 23 years as a member of the Village’s Architectural and Preservation Review Board and during this tenure, he maintained an excellent attendance record and an unbridled enthusiasm for history and village life,

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that this resolution shall be a tribute to the memory of Kenneth L. Willard, and that it be inscribed upon a special page in our minute book.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Village Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the bereaved family.
