Position: SUPERINTENDENT, DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS

Requires 15 years DPW experience and 5 years DPW supervisory experience. Significant experience working in a union environment and dealing with NYSDOT, professional engineers and architects. Must live within 10 miles of the DPW garage and earned a high school diploma or GED. The applicant should also possess financial management and strong personnel management skills. Essential duties and responsibilities include manual labor, long-range DPW planning, facilitation of the execution of grants, interviewing, hiring and training employees; direct supervision of 4-6 employees; project planning and scheduling; maintenance skills relating to equipment, buildings, street repairs and reconstruction. A NYS issued CDL class license and civil service exam is required soon after hire.
